Cookie Policy
Effective Date: June 22, 2026
Last Reviewed: June 22, 2026

This Cookie Policy ("Policy") explains how Beauty Garage Limited ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on beautygarage.com and our associated mobile applications (together, the "Platform"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions. This Policy has been prepared with reference to the Information Technology Act, 2000, the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 ("DPDP Rules").

What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website or use an application. They allow the website to recognise your device, remember your preferences and actions, and provide a more personalised and functional experience on subsequent visits.

In addition to cookies, we may also use similar tracking technologies including pixel tags (also called web beacons or clear GIFs), which are small transparent images embedded in web pages or emails that help us understand user behaviour; local storage objects, which store data on your device for longer durations than session cookies; and software development kits (SDKs) embedded in our mobile application that perform functions similar to cookies.

Throughout this Policy, we use the term “cookies” to refer collectively to all of these technologies unless otherwise specified.

Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies to make our Platform work as you expect; to remember your preferences and login status so you do not have to re-enter information on every visit; to understand how our Platform is used so we can improve it; to show you relevant advertising and measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns; and to keep our Platform and your account secure.

Categories of Cookies We Use
Strictly necessary cookies: These cookies are essential for the Platform to function. Without them, core features such as adding items to your cart, logging in to your account, completing checkout, and accessing secure areas of the Platform would not work. They do not collect any information about you that could be used for marketing purposes.

Strictly necessary cookies are active by default and cannot be switched off. They are typically set in response to your actions, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in a form. Your consent is not required for these cookies as they are necessary for the performance of the service you have requested.

Examples: session authentication tokens, shopping cart cookies, CSRF protection tokens, load balancer session cookies.
Duration: session-based (deleted when you close your browser) or up to 24 hours.
Functional cookies: Functional cookies allow the Platform to remember choices you have made and provide enhanced, personalised features. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages.
Examples: language preference, region or currency selection, recently viewed products, accessibility settings.
Duration: up to 12 months.
Consent required: yes. You may disable these via your browser settings or our cookie consent banner, but doing so may affect your experience on the Platform.
Performance and analytics cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our Platform by collecting information in aggregated or pseudonymised form. They tell us which pages are visited most often, how users navigate through the Platform, where users drop off during checkout, and whether they encounter any errors. This information is used solely to improve the performance and usability of the Platform.
Examples: Google Analytics (_ga, _gid, _gat), heat mapping tools, A/B testing platforms, performance monitoring scripts.
Duration: up to 24 months depending on the tool.
Consent required: yes. You may opt out via our cookie consent banner or via Google Analytics opt-out tools.

Marketing and advertising cookies
Marketing cookies are used to track visitors across websites and platforms to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements on our Platform and on third-party platforms such as Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), and other advertising networks. They are usually set by our advertising partners and allow those partners to build a profile of your interests.

Examples: Meta Pixel, Google Ads conversion tracking, WebEngage, CleverTap push notification identifiers, retargeting pixels.
Duration: up to 180 days depending on the advertising partner.
Consent required: yes. You may opt out via our cookie consent banner. You may also opt out directly through your Google Ad Settings or Meta Ad Preferences, or through the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool.

We do not use marketing cookies to build profiles on children under 18 or to serve targeted advertising to children. If we become aware that a user is below 18, all non-essential cookies for that user will be disabled.

Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on our Platform are set by third parties whose services we use, rather than by us directly. We do not control these third-party cookies and they are governed by the privacy and cookie policies of the respective third parties. The key third-party services that may set cookies on our Platform include:
Google Analytics and Google Ads: for website analytics and advertising measurement. Governed by Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram): for advertising campaign measurement and retargeting. Governed by Meta’s Privacy Policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
WebEngage: for user engagement, push notifications, and marketing automation. Governed by WebEngage’s Privacy Policy at webengage.com/privacy-policy.
Razorpay and Gokwik: for payment processing and fraud prevention. Their cookies are strictly necessary for completing transactions.
Freshdesk: for customer support chat functionality.
We recommend reviewing the privacy and cookie policies of these third parties directly. We periodically review our third-party integrations and update this Policy accordingly.

Cookie Consent
When you visit our Platform for the first time, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner that explains the categories of cookies we use and gives you the option to accept all cookies, accept only strictly necessary cookies, or customise your preferences by category.

Your consent applies to all non-essential cookies (functional, performance and analytics, and marketing and advertising). Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent as they are essential for the operation of the Platform.

Your cookie preferences are stored on your device for up to 12 months. You may change your preferences at any time by clicking the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of our website. If you clear your browser cookies, your preferences will be reset and you will be asked to consent again on your next visit.

Under the DPDP Rules, 2025, consent for non-essential data processing must be freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous. Our cookie consent banner is designed to meet these requirements. We do not use pre-ticked boxes or treat continued browsing as consent for non-essential cookies.

How to Manage and Disable Cookies
Via our cookie consent banner: You can manage your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of our website. From there, you can enable or disable each category of non-essential cookie. Your updated preferences will take effect immediately.

Via your browser settings: All major browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to block all cookies, accept only first-party cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when a cookie is set. Google Ad Settings: adssettings.google.com

Do Not Track: Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting that sends a signal to websites requesting that your browsing is not tracked. There is currently no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. Our Platform does not currently alter its behaviour in response to DNT signals, but you can use the cookie management tools described above to control tracking on our Platform.
