This Ingredient Policy applies to all products manufactured and sold by Beauty Garage Limited through beautygarage.com. It sets out our approach to ingredient safety, transparency, and compliance. It should be read alongside our Product Disclaimer.

Safety and Compliance

All Beauty Garage cosmetic products manufactured, imported, or marketed in India comply with the applicable provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, the Cosmetic Rules, 2020, relevant Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) specifications and the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011. Imported cosmetic products are imported into India in compliance with the requirements of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), where applicable. Cosmetic products manufactured for export are formulated and labeled in accordance with the regulatory requirements of the destination country, where applicable, in addition to applicable Indian manufacturing requirements. Beauty Garage also considers internationally recognized cosmetic safety standards and regulatory frameworks, including the European Union Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009, as internal benchmarks for ingredient safety evaluation and product quality, where relevant to the intended market.

All raw materials undergo quality testing before use. Each product is subjected to in-process quality checks during manufacturing, R&D stability testing to assess product stability, and microbiological testing of the finished formulation to ensure it meets established quality and safety standards.

Ingredient List (INCI) Disclosure

The complete ingredient list is declared on every product label in descending order of concentration. The INCI list is also published on the relevant product page on beautygarage.com.

The physical product label is always the most current and authoritative source of ingredient information. Formulations may be updated; the revised INCI list will appear on the new packaging before the Platform is updated.

We use only approved preservatives at concentrations within legally established limits. Preservative

Fragrance and Allergens

Fragrances are used at safe levels in compliance with IFRA (International Fragrance Association) standards. Some products contain essential oils such as argan oil, rosemary oil, or peppermint oil. Known allergens and precautionary warnings are disclosed on the product label where required or helpful. We recommend a patch test before first use of any new product, particularly if you have sensitive skin or scalp.

Animal Testing, Cruelty-Free, and Vegan Status

We do not conduct or commission animal testing on any Beauty Garage cosmetic product. Animal testing on cosmetics is prohibited in India under the Drugs and Cosmetics (Amendment) Rules, 2014, and we comply with this requirement.

Vegan and vegetarian status varies by product SKU. Products that are vegan or vegetarian are indicated by icons on the product label and on the relevant product page on beautygarage.com. For queries on specific products, please contact us at help@beautygarage.com.

Patch Test Recommendation

We recommend performing a 24-hour patch test before using any Beauty Garage product for the first time. Apply a small amount to the inner forearm or behind the ear and leave undisturbed for 24 hours. Discontinue use if any redness, itching, or irritation occurs and consult a dermatologist. All products are for external use on hair and scalp only. Avoid contact with eyes.

Packaging and EPR

Packaging is selected for product protection, ingredient compatibility, and recyclability where feasible. Beauty Garage Limited complies with its Extended Producer Responsibility obligations for plastic waste under the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 (EPR Registration No.: BO-15-000-07-AAJCB6062D-22).
